Prime Performers Week Eight

November 3, 2015 Leave a comment

QB – Drew Brees – ThUnder Dawgs – 47.54

511 Passing Yards 7 Passing TD 1 Interception 1 Rushing Yard This was a game to remember. Football fans around the nation had to double check and make sure it was NFL Sunday, and not Oklahoma State vs. Texas Tech with the 101 combined points scored and 13 passing TDs. Bree outlasted Eli, but Eli deserves a little love for his effort. It's easy to believe ThUnder Dawgs rolled this week on the wings of Brees' effort.

182 Rushing Yards 2 Rushing TD 8 Receiving Yards Justin Forsett of Nature pulverized the Saints sorry excuse for a defense on Monday night. This is Forsett's second straight elite performance. RB2 – Eddie Lacy – Tenacious tD – 25.8

125 Rushing Yards Rushing TD 13 Receiving Yards Receiving TD Eddie Lacy and the Green Bay Packers continued their march towards the playoffs in week 12. Lacy was the primary weapon of the offense with two TD. Tenacious tD is still alive in the playoff hunt, but they need a win from Layin' Woodson, HardOns TrainingCamp, and one of the following (Rex Ryan's Gut victory, or Julio's Foot victory + TTD must outscore RRG my 30.9.)

WR1 – Demaryius Thomas – Neverending Splendor – 26.7

87 Receiving Yards 3 Receiving TD Demaryius Thomas is without doubt one of the best WRs in the league on one of the best offensive teams in the league. A true fantasy gem. TE – Jimmy Graham – Layin’ Woodson – 16.7

47 Receiving Yards 2 Receiving TD Jimmy Graham returns to the prime spotlight in week 12 for the second time in three weeks. After a disappointing season plagued by injury, Graham seems to be rounding into shape. It's been a disappointing season for Layin' Woodson, but they were able to take down the defending champion Pierces Getaway Carr in week 12, and spoil their chances at a playoff bye week. They can also ruin the great season Butt Fumble's put together by taking them down in week 13. (Editor's note: Do it!)

Who Sucked??

  • Ben Tate – Jeff Fisher’s Beard – 0 points – Ben Tate only joined the Vikings earlier in the week, but with Asiata out, I took a gamble and lost. Tate was a non-factor. I didn’t have a RB on the bench who would have bridged the gap, but it’s often the moves you don’t make that kills you. I debated adding Blount, but didn’t want to be too Patriots happy (and didn’t expect him to blow up as big as he did.)
  • Mike Vick – Pierces Getaway Carr- 2.44 points – Simply put, 2.44 points from your QB is always going to cripple you. Vick seemed to show promising signs in recent weeks, but clearly the helter skelter of the suspended game didn’t do him well.
  • Roy Helu Jr. – HardOns TrainingCamp – .9 points – Like Tate for JFB, Helu Jr. simply was a non-factor for the Redskins pathetic offense.
  • Frank Gore – Julio’s Foot – 1.6 points – The once great 49ers RB has been a shell of himself for much of the season. One has to wonder his value to the 49ers offense at this point. He’s only eclipsed 10 points once since week five (14.3 in week 10.)
  • Denver Defense – ThUnder Dawgs – (-1 points) – Even just an average performance (5-8 points) would have been enough for ThUnder Dawgs to win in week 12, but they disappointed.
  • Brandon Marshall – Reed White & Rueb – 3.2 points – Marshall has long been considered one of the best WRs in the game, but he’s been too inconsistent to be happy with this season. Marshall’s last two weeks leading up to this game have been some of his best, but he wasn’t able to ride the momentum into week 12.
  • Vernon Davis – Neverending Splendor- 2.1 points – Vernon has been just downright awful this year. He did outscore Clay Harbor this week though, so he has that going for him.

Prime Performers Week Seven

October 23, 2012 Leave a comment

QB – Drew Brees – Layin’ Woodson – 30.18

Drew Brees, who recently had to tell us about a record he was breaking for us to know about it, made his way back to the Prime Performer list in week seven.

RB1 – Chris Johnson – 4th and Drunk – 31.8

Chris Johnson had a fantastic game against the Bills in week seven. After turning in a vintage performance, it should be interesting to see if he turns into the weekly Prime CJ, or the dud he’s been the last two seasons.

RB2 – Arian Foster – Rex Ryan’s Gut – 22.3

“Hey Arian, can I get your hat?”
“I’m in the middle of tooling the Ravens.”

WR1 – Vincent Jackson – 4th and Drunk – 27.6

Vincent Jackson somehow came up with the ball on this pass that looked like it was going to be intercepted. He then took the ball 80 yards down the field, but fell just short of the endzone, or it might have been even more for 4th and Drunk.

WR2 – Randall Cobb – Two Mannings One Cup – 22.8

Randall “Corn on the” Cobb was a favorite target of the great Aaron Rodgers in week seven. Cobb is on the move from Two Mannings One Cup to 5AUCED as long as their trade processes.

WR3 – Victor Cruz – Kilin Time – 19.1

Just when it looked like RGIII and the Skins were going to upset the favored GMen, Manning connected with Cruz for a monster TD with a side of Salsa. Cruz’s TD was the nail in the coffin.

TE – Rob Gronkowski – 4th and Drunk – 19.8

Gronk no drop football, Gronk no lose game. Another solid performance from 4th and Drunk in their breakout week.

K – Nick Folk – Free Agent – 18

Nick Folk tried his best to be the hero in yesterday’s game, with two big FG’s down the stretch in the 4th quarter, but the struggling Patriots were able to salvage a win with an OT FG.

DEF – Houston – 4th and Drunk – 20

No surprise to see CJ’s 4th and Drunk with another Prime Performer. JJ Watt did his best to disrupt Flacco on Sunday, and the best he can is good enough.

Prime Performers Week Twelve

November 30, 2011 Leave a comment

QB – Drew Brees – Tenacious tD – 37.32

In what looked to be a nail biter between Tenacious tD and Pimpin Aint Breesy last week, Brees closed out the Tenacious victory before the end of the first half. Brees shredded the Giants Defense.

RB1 – Beanie Wells – Terwilliger – 26.8

Chris Wells had another outstanding week, helping Terwilliger pull out the tight victory over the leagues former top dog 4th and Drunk.

RB2 – Roy Helu – 4th and Drunk – 22.2

Roy Helu had a career week in week twelve, but unfortunately for 4th and Drunk, he did so on the bench.

WR1 – Victor Cruz – ThUnder Dawgs – 27.7

One of the only bright spots in an otherwise depressing Giants' effort, Cruz has really turned heads in his rookie season.

WR2 – Wes Welker – Tenacious tD – 22.6

Wes Welker is alive. After a few weeks of flying under the radar, Welker had a huge game against the Eagles, and Victor's golden boy reigns supreme once again.

WR3 – Johnny Knox – Free Agent – 20.5

This former free agent had one of the best games in week twelve. The Bears will need all their players to step up in Cutler's absence.

TE – Jimmy Graham – ThUnder Dawgs – 20.4

Jimmy Graham lives above the rim. His impressive Monday night performance carried ThUnder Dawgs to the money in week twelve.

K – Sebastian Janikowski – Pimpin Aint Breesy – 23

Kick his ass SeaBass! The life long Raider had another great game in week twelve.

DEF – Tennessee – Free Agent – 22

The one that got away: LeGarrette Blount. The one time Titan had an impressive game in week twelve, but two costly lost fumbles helped propel the Titans to the top defensive mark of the week.

Prime Performers Week Seven

October 25, 2011 Leave a comment

QB – Drew Brees – Tenacious tD – 33

Drew Brees, who always feels he has something to prove, added another great game to his career. Brees' 33 fantasy points were much needed for Tenacious tD's win in week seven.

RB1 – Arian Foster – Rex Ryan’s Gut – 41.4

Facing the Titans was child's play for Foster in week seven. 115 yards rushing coupled with 119 yards receiving and three touchdowns carried him to 41.4 fantasy points, by far the most single week points by a RB this season.

RB2 – DeMarco Murray – Rex Ryan’s Gut – 31.3

Rex Ryan's Gut hit the jackpot this week from his running backs. Murray's 31.3 points and Foster's 41.4 were enough to beat seven teams in our league this week.

WR1 -Marques Colston – Terwilliger – 21.8

Colston had one of the nicest touchdowns we have seen in this NFL season. 21.8 fantasy points were enough for Colston to be the top dog this week.

WR2 – Greg Jennings – Rex Ryan’s Gut – 20.7

Jennings helped lead the Packers to victory over the Vikings, and capped off an unconscionable week for Rex Ryan's Gut. There is some concern about Jennings hand, but we all know he puts the team on his back.

WR3 – Plaxico Burress – Paranoid Brandlloyd – 20.5

There has been a Plaxico sighting in East Rutherford. Burress finally showed off his red zone abilities, catching three touchdown passes against the Chargers.

TE – Jimmy Graham – ThUnder Dawgs – 17.4

It seems that Graham has separated himself from his peers as the best TE in the game today. His third appearance in the Prime Performers list is the most of any TE. His 97.4 points this season are 27.3 more than the next best player.

K – Josh Scobee – Kilin Time – 18

Scobee Doobie Doo not only scored all of the Jaguars' points on Monday night, but he also nailed three 50+ yard field goals.

K – Mason Crosby – Big Fat Turd – 18
